Severe weather is possible later today.
Thunderstorms will develop north and northeast of Calgary this afternoon and track east toward the Saskatchewan border. A few of these thunderstorms are likely to become severe producing large hail and damaging winds. There is also the risk of a tornado.
Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible.
Be prepared for severe weather. If threatening weather approaches, take cover in a basement or interior room. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail. When thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.
Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles.
Large hail can cause significant damage and injury.
